DiscoverHere

In three hour sessions, DiscoverHERE aims to bring together unique groups of people for an evening of active-listening, personal storytelling, and deep interpersonal connection. Participants enter the session without expectations and are only asked to be willing to truly listen and share what it means to be "here," both geographically, and here within themselves. Through the powers of meditation, music, yoga, and art, our leaders create the space for empathy and active listening.

She currently teaches at Y7, Anthony Crouchelli Fitness, and privately in NYC.

How does DiscoverHERE make you feel?

"DiscoverHERE is like taking a sigh of relief--I am allowed to feel this way, other people have the same insecurities, and I can choose to be the creator of my reality. Nate is incredible at holding space for people to share their stories, and we celebrated our lives as they are right now which is incredibly empowering. I loved the activity and music portions, and while Matt played the guitar I sang out "I'm always afraid!" as if it's something I'm proud of instead of something that holds me back. I can feel my fear and move forward anyway!"

How does DiscoverHERE make you feel?

"Finding the path to self acceptance, presence, and your breath is a gift and a right that I hope every human being someday finds. Finding like minded people to share in this gift can be difficult. One place I have found this solace is in the DiscoverHERE Project. When I came across Nate Bertone and the DiscoverHERE Project, I felt the intention and the connection immediately. The openness and sincerity, and balance between structure and creativity are, in my opinion, exactly what will help a lot of people find clarity in their lives. It is a safe space to have open dialogue, explore music, talk about the times, discuss different literary works and mentors, and express yourself freely."

How does DiscoverHERE make you feel?

"DiscoverHERE is a physical manifestation of my deepest belief. When we allow ourselves to discover what’s inside of us, we access a humanity that connects us to everything and everyone. Simply, DiscoverHERE is an empathy trainer - through Yoga, Meditation, Music, and Conversation (4 activities humans have been doing for a LONG time) we’re able to discover new truths about ourselves and the world around us. Having the space to access these truths has grown my perspective and has re-shaped the course of my life. I am constantly grateful for the chance to be in a room with this band of life changers."

Participant Testimonials

"I found DiscoverHERE to be a truly unique & impactful experience. As someone who has a developed Yoga & meditation practice over several years, I gained a lot from taking part in something of this nature that had a strong focus on the city we live in. Like many New Yorkers I am not a native, so living in a city away from home can present many challenges or obstacles, & addressing this through DiscoverHERE was really powerful. I like the variety of Yoga, meditation, discussion & music. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking to dig a little deeper into what they are looking for in this incredible city. A huge thank to Nate & his team for facilitating this. Side note, a great team bonding experience for myself & my colleagues!."
